Successful Drop Off Routines
Consistency is key!
Develop a drop off routine starting from home (don’t use screen time in the car- replace with favourite songs)
Use consistent language
Brief and consistent good-bye procedure- e.g. “Bye-bye, love you, see you after late snack”
Don’t re-enter the room after drop off- this can create confusion
Reporting Absences and Authorised Persons
If your child is going to be absent, please inform the centre as soon as possible. If you are planning a holiday, you can lodge Holiday Leave applications on OWNA, giving at least three weeks’ notice.
To authorise an additional person to collect your child, please update your authorised contacts via the OWNA portal.
Preparing for School
Our preschool programs are designed to support children in becoming confident and capable as they transition to school. Our qualified educators understand school expectations and the skills children need for a smooth and successful transition. A key focus is building independence, alongside strong social and group participation skills. We support children to develop self-help abilities and responsibility for their belongings within a classroom environment.
In the year leading up to school, our preschool program gradually becomes more structured while still maintaining a play-based approach. We intentionally focus on foundational literacy and numeracy concepts and expanding children’s vocabulary. Children are progressively introduced to symbolic representations of language, with increasing opportunities to engage in reading and writing within meaningful play contexts. We also support the development of sustained attention, concentration, and collaborative group learning.

Babies need appropriate foot coverings for warmth. We expect much of their day to be barefoot, which is critical to support muscle development during the pre-walking and toddling stages.
